Okay, so I'm a lousy blogger

... and I'm not very good with all of the html gizmos and other things. But after sweating through slow internet service and a basic cut-and-paste lesson, I've managed to add a widget that will allow my readers to make a contribution to this year's Red Kettle Campaign. You see, I've become a die-hard "avoid the malls and traffic at any cost" kind of shopper, and the biggest cost in my on-line shopping is that I don't run into any of those wonderful bell ringers.

If you, too, are skipping the mall this year, take a minute to drop some "spare change" into the red kettle in the sidebar. Your contribution is important to the Salvation Army's ongoing good works and the invaluable services they provide to all members of our community.

Thank you for your consideration. If you are going to the mall, though, be sure to fill your pockets with some spare change for the real live bellringer. Or at least stop by to thank the hardworking volunteers who donate their time to help our neighbors.
